Conductive Hearing Loss

Another type of Hearing Loss is called Conductive. When there is a problem in the outer ear or middle ear (the parts of the ear responsible for sending sound to the inner ear) it may result in a Conductive Hearing Loss. Outer ear problems include impacted earwax (cerumen), or an infection, that causes blockage in the external ear canal. Middle ear problems include fluid caused by an ear infection or damage to the tympanic membrane or ossicles. Many Conductive Hearing Losses require medical intervention by Physicians for treatment.
